This adds CONFIG_FAN_UPDATE_PERIOD to limit the frequency at which
the fan speeds are updated. Short version: the CPU core temp
fluctuates rapidly, causing the fans turn off and on annoyingly
often (assuming you have good hearing and are in a quiet room).
With this CL, we limit the speed changes to only once every N
seconds. N should be long enough to be less annoying, yet short
enough that the CPU doesn't overheat while we're not looking.

Add new charge_ramp module which works with charge_manager to
slowly increase input current limit in order to find the optimal
charging current. To do this it looks for either VBUS drooping
too low or for the charger to over-current.

Make new VBUS charge supplier for Samus and Ryu which allows
default 500mA charging when VBUS is present. Before this was
accomplished via the type-C supplier, but type-C supplier should
only be used for 1.5A and 3A pull-up. VBUS supplier is lowest
priority so that any other supplier will take precedence over
the default charging rate.
This work is done in preparation for charge_ramp module where
we don't want to ramp for typeC supplier.

When we find that charging is in a wedged state, we may wish to write a
PD log entry, but the PD MCU cannot detect such a state on its own.
Therefore, add a new command to ask the PD MCU to write a log of a given
type, and add a new board-specific custom log event.

VCONN should be off at the start of pd task. This is handled
initially by the defaults in gpio.inc. However in the case of a
sysjump after a RW only firmware update the previous state would be
preserved.
This in turn would allow us to evaluate polarity incorrectly if an
accessory was connected in the CC2 polarity and subsequently enable
both VCONNs which would leave the port with both CCx lines at 3.3V.
This change adds a new function, pd_config_init, which initializes
VCONN(s) to off. Future CLs will evaluate other PD related GPIOs that
may be left unitialized as a result of sysjump.

Previously, we tried to minimize log spew by keeping track of previous
log entries and not writing new entries in some cases. Instead, we can
write a log on the following events only:
1. A port becomes active or
2. A port becomes inactive or
3. The active charge port power limit changes or
4. Any supplier change on an inactive port
Also, make charge_manager_save_log a non-static charge manager API
function, so that other modules can record a log, if they have reason to
believe a port has changed outside of a charge manager change.

The debounce timer might be too slow to actually update the state of
debounced_power_pressed by the time we do power_button_is_pressed in the S3->S5
state transition. Solution is to move the power_button_wait_for_release function
here and make sure there are no deferreds active.

If a dual-role charger is plugged, we will not realize it is dual-role
until after we see a type-C charge source. It can cause us to briefly
charge from a dual-role charger, which has bad side effects related to
charge override and the lightbar. Fix this by not charging from a port
until we are fairly certain that it is a dedicated charger (based upon
PD discovery timeout).

If we power swap from a source to a sink and begin charging, VBUS will
never be marked as present, which has bad side-effects when VBUS
disappears and we wish to stop charging.

Some EC chips (mec1322) use external SPI flash which is not mapped
into the EC CPU's address space. These must explicitly read data from
flash when calculating the vboot hash or reading the version string of
the image which isn't currently loaded into code RAM.
To test this bug, I used a board with known working mapped flash, and
temporarily patched it to act like it didn't have mapped flash.
Also add a flashread console command, useful for manually testing.

Motion sense calculations do not require huge amounts of precision, so
fixed point is plenty accurate. And fixed point works on Cortex-M0,
which lacks a FPU.

of angle jitter is normal.

5. If the hinge is made normal to the ground (or within 15 degrees of
vertical), the angle should read 500, since the acceleration vectors
don't yield good results in that orientation (for either fixed or float
math).
And run 'make buildall -j', which tests arc_cos() and lid angle calculations

Fix bug on samus that the battery status doesn't always show on
lightbar when AC is plugged/unplugged. It doesn't show when the
battery is full is S3 or S5 because in these states we turn off
CHARGE_EN so that ACOK to the EC never toggles.
Instead, what we want to do is display battery status whenever the
active charge port changes. This will happen when AC is plugged or
unplugged OR if a user has AC on both ports and toggles between
them using the charge override hot-keys.

Occasionally the charge circuit on samus gets wedged and will not
charge. This change detects when the charge circuit has failed
and automatically recovers from it. It uses the BQ PROCHOT warning
to detect the failure by setting PROCHOT to trigger when the BQ
thinks input current is higher than the input current limit. When
the failure is detected, the EC disables charging and tells PD MCU
to disable CHARGE_EN, then a couple seconds later, it re-enables
charging.
This CL also adds more communication between EC and PD for the EC
to be able to set the charge state for the PD. Valid charge states
are: No charging allowed, 5V charging only, and max charging. The
EC uses this as such:
- When the EC gets AC present interrupt, it sets off a deferred
function to change charge state to max charging after some delay
to give time for the charge circuit to settle down.
- When the EC gets AC disconnect interrupt, it disables charging
briefly, enables learn mode, and then sets 5V charging allowed.
This allows for the same starting conditions in the charge circuit
for every AC attach.
- When the EC detects a wedged charge circuit, it disables charging
and waits a few seconds before re-enabling 5V only charging.
Additionally, this change moves the charging cutoff in S3/S5/G3 when
the battery is full to the EC. With the added control for the EC
to set the PD charging state, it is more convenient for the EC to
manage cutting off charging when battery is full.

change is causing the problem, I think there is an electrical limitation.
test with EVT zinger:
- EVT zingers (P2 - C2) negotiate very quickly after connection, which
can cause INA problems w/o this CL. Tested an EVT zinger with samus and
did a bunch of connections and disconnections and verified that we always
wait at 5V for 500ms and that we don't wedge the INA circuit on connect.
test backwards compatibility:
- test new PD with old EC and make sure we can charge with zinger.
(note that if the charge circuit wedges, we won't be able to unwedge it).
- test old PD with new EC and make sure we can charge with zinger.

When inductive charging just starts, there might be a blip on
CHARGE_DONE signal and it'd cause our charging control logic to shut
down charging. Fix this by waiting for a second before we start
monitoring CHARGE_DONE.
Also, once we see CHARGE_DONE=1 and disable charging, CHARGE_DONE will
go low. Handle this by ignoring all subsequent CHARGE_DONE change until
the next time the lid is opened.

Current simplified implementation allows single mode entry. Specification
allows multiple mode entry and its advantageous for things like flashing RW
while staying in DisplayPort mode on video dongles.
CL adds capability on DFP to track as many alternate modes as supported by the
DFP. Initial mode entered is still the default supported mode ( 1st entry, 1st
opos). Policy manager can then use host command, EC_CMD_USB_PD_SET_AMODE, to
enter additional supported modes.
On the UFP (hoho, dingdong) a small modification to track multiple svid mode
entries was made.

Several modifications to samus fast charging to fix bug where
charging circuit stops charging the battery.
- Fix bug: if we have a bad temperature reading, fast charging should
ignore it.
- Change the fast charging high temperature profile to set a charging
voltage equal to the maximum of 8.3V and the current battery voltage.
- Divide the normal temperature profile into two phases, low voltage
charging and high voltage charging. Once we transition to second
phase, don't allow it to go back to phase 1 unless AC is removed.
On samus, we have to make sure we never command the BQ to a charging
voltage that is below the present battery voltage or else the INA will
lose power and we will not be able to charge the battery until AC
is disconnected.
This also changes charge_state_v2 so that the fast charging profile
override is called even when AC is disconnected to avoid jumps in
temperature as seen by the fast charging code.
Also changes the voltage threshold for transitioning from phase 1 to
phase 2 of normal temp charging so that the transition is taken a little
earlier to match the desired profile slightly better.

fast charging regions and made sure that (1) we never set a charging voltage
below the present battery voltage and (2) we never stop charging the battery.
I ran this test at low battery and high battery percentage and with low load
(G3) and high load (S0 with webgl aquarium).

To achieve higher power efficiency, we want the input voltage to be as
low as possible. If the PD source advertise several choices over
PD_MAX_POWER_MW, choose the one with the lowest voltage.

Currently, we only use PD_MAX_POWER_MW for battery power source and
PD_MAX_CURRENT_MA for other sources. This change makes it so that both
limits are honored no matter what the power source is.

Poll USB PD accessories for event log entries only after we have
performed a Discover Identity and identified them as a Google device
(USB VID = 0x18d1) in order to avoid confusing third party devices with
our logging VDM.

Fix bug if we are executing a power swap to a sink, and we don't
get PS_RDY from port partner, then we transition to SNK_DISCONNECTED
without switching our power role to sink, which could cause us to
get wedged in the wrong state if we also receive a hard reset a
little later because we will have Rd asserted but are will transition
to source role and can never get out of it.

If our battery params seem uninitialized when calling
charge_prevent_power_on, try to retrieve them and make a decision based
upon the retrieved data. This should prevent the case where power-up is
incorrectly prevented early in the boot process.

Set the battery threshold for tap for battery to show red to match
the kernel percentage at which the battery icon turns red. This
threshold is 14% real battery percentage which is equivalent to 10%
battery for what the user is shown.
Note: due to rounding we may still be off, but this closes the window
at which these will differ.

When VBUS is initially present, we set a type-c charge_manager supplier.
Therefore, when we clear our VBUS present flag, we also need to zero our
supplier.

For dual-role USB ports (host/device), let the AP know whether we are
currently DFP (USB host) or UFP (USB device) by exporting the data role
in addition to the power role in the EC_CMD_USB_PD_CONTROL response.

Fix bug in USB PD initialization after a sysjump. Since the CC pull
resistors weren't being initialized after a sysjump, we would sometimes
end up stuck in sink debounce state because we would have Rp applied
and our initial state of sink disconnected would think that a source
was attached. And since we continued to apply Rp, we would never make
a connection with a charger, so we would be stuck in sink debounce
until a reboot.

Fix a couple bugs that cause problems when executing a power
swap with a poor PD connection.
1) If we are a sink switching to a source and we have turned on
vbus and then get an error, then make sure to turn off vbus.
2) If we are a sink switching to a source and we receive a
redundant PD_RDY, then ignore it.

Set the PD protocol last state to hard reset when executing a
hard reset. This fixes a bug in which if we receive a hard reset
while in one of the hard reset recovery states the last state
doesn't change, which means we don't restart timeout periods and
it is possible to be indefinitely stuck in the hard reset recovery
state until PD MCU reboots.

PD connection and about 1 in 5 times it causes us to get stuck in
SNK_HARD_RESET_RECOVER until a reboot. with this fix, we never get

Change charge_state_v2 to set the maximum input current limit when
there is no battery present AND the system is not locked. This allows
us to boot without a battery.
Note that using the max input current limit may cause us to overcurrent
our charger, but that's no worse than putting a limit on it and having
the system brownout. Either way you must have a high enough power
charger to boot without a battery.

Fix some issues with how the battery present flag is reported
up to the host.
If there is no battery presence GPIO or custom function then
errors updating the smart battery info can result in the
battery present flag reporting BP_NOT_SURE and indicating to the
host that the battery is missing. In order to prevent spurious
events require a second back-to-back read of a missing battery
before the host is notified.
When the battery presence does change, the host needs to be told
to re-read the static battery info with EC_HOST_EVENT_BATTERY,
passed to the OS via Notify command to tell the OS to re-execute
_BIF/_BIX method on the ACPI battery device.
When sending these events to the host the battery flags should
first be updated in LPC shared memory so if the host handles
the event quickly it will read the correct updated flags value.

function to set batt.is_present to BP_NOT_SURE for a specified
number of update cycles.
2) ensure that when the smart battery update only returns the

is missing for more than one update cycle, such that the host is
notified the battery is missing, that it correctly gets an event
to re-read the battery info when it is indicated as present again.

If a character is received between uart_init() and task_start(), we
shouldn't try to wake console task. Usually this shouldn't happen
because the input shouldn't be floating, but still, the EC should not
crash in this case.

The AP informs us of the latest update image for a given device through
the EC_CMD_USB_PD_RW_HASH_ENTRY command. If the latest update image is
equivalent to our RW, we don't need to request an update.
